New Dance: MAL DE AMORES

Hello again!
Hope you’re in the best of health in this never ending pandemic.

I’d like to share a new dance I collaborated with Winson EWS – MAL DE AMORES. It’s a 48 count 2 wall improver line dance choreographed to the song of the same name by Sofia Reyes and Becky G.

This is our third duet, after LOVE DOESN’T ASK WHY and LOVE BLOSSOMS, both of which were very well received. We hope you will like this MAL DE AMORES as well.

We can’t thank you enough for taking the trouble to learn it, teach it, like it on social media/LD platforms, dress & make up to shoot a video of it, edit, upload and share the video of it etc… you guys are simply awesome. Thanks once again!

New Dance: LIFE EXPECTATIONS

It’s been 8 months since I released ROTATE (Thanks for the tremendous support and hundreds of videos!); I’ve been too busy with work (and my new kittens) during the lockdown. But here’s a new one called LIFE EXPECTATIONS collaboration with Adeline Cheng. It is choreographed to a beautiful song ‘What is expected in life’ by the late Danny Chan who has the most angelic voice. The dance is a 34 counts 2 wall high intermediate nightclub line dance, with some easier options.

I’ve been eyeing this song for several years so when Adeline approached me with this many moons ago, I said YES! YES! YES! Many didn’t know the version by Dave Wang Jie is the original so yup you can dance to any version of your choice, the music arrangements are exactly the same!

New Dances in Jan-Mar 2021

Here are my new dances released since the beginning of 2021:

  1. Love Blossoms (32c2w-int) is choreographed to Siti Nurhaliza’s winning song Aku Cinta Padamu. It’s rolling-8 rhythm allows dancers to float with the music and the tag is contextualised to the lyrics (ie, when love blossoms…) and also thus the title of the dance.

  2. I Love My Life (64c2w-int) is choreographed to Justice Crew’s fun and energetic song of the same name. It was taught and released as a CBA2021 dance and received tremendous response worldwide.   3. Dance in Pink for Good Health, Peace and Joy (48c1w-beg) is choreographed to a classic CNY song by Zhang Xiao Ying. The song was specially chosen due to its lyrics that promotes blessings of Good Health, Peace and Joy to everyone and specially for the BCSGJB. The dance can be made into a 4 wall dance as well.

Friends are the most important part of your life. Treasure the tears, Treasure the laughter, but most importantly, Treasure the memories.

God knows how many friends we have made during our dance journey. I remember migrating to the big city KL in 2004 all alone. After work it was just back to my rented room and for the first few weeks, I was getting depressed already. Of course I have my friends from school and university and work but they have their routines and different interests. Until I found a line dance group, and the new friendships started multiplying. From new classes, and events that we go to, and with internet, new friendships were formed via instant messaging system, email and then social media. Line dance friends are different from other friends, because we have the same interests. And many have of these friendships has lasted since, and upgraded to BFF as well 🙂

Now back to the dance, Adeline invited me to collaborate with her on this as it’s one of her favourite song. The phrasing of the song was quite tricky though so we tried our best to phrase it out as simply as possible for dancers to dance and enjoy the song at the same time. The song is simply too nice and lyrics very meaningful, about memories reminiscence of friendships. Do check it out if you haven’t done so. The reviews have been great!
