New Dance: Thousands of Songs

Jennifer Choo Sue Chin | July 29, 2013

Again, I’ve not been updating my blog due to my busy schedule! I’ve a new dance over the past few months which I co-choreographed with Eddie Tang! This is our third choreography and we’re already planning a fourth! šŸ˜›

(HOT!) Thousands of Songs co-choreographed with Eddie Tang to Priscilla Chan’s Thousands of Songs (Cantonese version). The song is really really lovely and the 32 count intermediate nightclub steps are choreographed melodically and rhythmically to the song. Check out the numerous videos already on youtube! Eddie and I are really excited and encouraged to see the dance getting very good response from far and wide. Thanks so much if you have chosen to teach/learn our dance!

Enjoy! <3

New Dance: What Makes You Beautiful

Jennifer Choo Sue Chin | August 13, 2012

I heard the song “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction early this year and got attracted to the catchy beats and tune. The song was often played on the radio, in the malls, and I heard the song everywhere until I told myself, I just got to do this one. I especially love the part where they sang, “The way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed”. So there I go, fitting the ‘hair flip’ motion into the dance every time that part was sung!

The phrasing is a little tough though as there are 3 restarts and 1 tag in the dance, in order to fit the ‘hair flip’ part. But the good news is that all the restarts and tags happened at 3:00 wall, so that should be easy. The 32-count steps are fairly simple but the dance is rated intermediate due to the numerous restarts.

I taught the dance at Daniel & Cindy Leong’s Autumn Line Dance Extravaganza on 12 Aug 2012 and received a tremendous response for it. Thanks to Daniel & Cindy for inviting me to give a little workshop, the dancers at his events are always amazing, they picked up the whole dance (including the restarts & tag) in less than 10 mins!

Watch the video of the demo and teach. I hope you’ll enjoy the dance and flipping your hair! šŸ˜›

p.s. I don’t normally choreograph to dances that my friends have choreographed to, but Yu Puay (Kuching) and I choreographed to this song at about the same time unknowingly of the other. Though she had released it earlier, I had to wait till now to release this weekend. We laughed about it as I almost clashed with her in another choreography too. Do check out her dance too. Split floors are always welcomed! šŸ™‚

New Dance: Baby, I’m So Sorry

Jennifer Choo Sue Chin | July 31, 2012

Releasing a slow cha to Alex To’s Wu Xin Sang Hai – one of my favourite Chinese songs. Sorry for the delay, I finally got a simple video done up!

The dance is co-choreographed with Ivy Low, a good friend of mine, who released Amor Perdimos last month. Hope you’ll enjoy this dance too!
