Friends who have been following me on Facebook recently would have known that I’ve been in the UK the past 2-3 weeks enjoying my first winter and snow. The main reason for me being in the UK is to attend the 19th Crystal Boot Awards held at Blackpool, akin to the Oscars Academy Award in the film industry. I’m really honoured and humbled to be able to teach my choreography there. Thanks to Linedancer Magazine for giving me the opportunity to teach at the prestigious event and for me to dance with the British and European dancers. I will blog more about the event when I have more time, having just returned to piles and piles of work waiting for me.
I’ve been asked to choreograph an improver level dance (something like 4 Little Heels) and was hunting high and low for a suitable music. It’s hard to get a song like 4 Little Heels which is so cute and yet so easy to choreograph steps that fit the song so well. So after consulting an ex-singer friend, Linda Chow suggested loads of music for me but many have dances to them already. I finally selected the music Move It Baby by Simon Scott and the Le Roys, a song from the 60’s. It’s an upbeat happy song and most of all, I could “play with the lyrics”. Do try it out and have fun with the dance!
