New Dance: Dance of LOVE
Jennifer Choo Sue Chin | January 31, 2010With Valentine’s Day around the corner (despite being a much more subdued event this year as it co-incides with the Lunar New Year on 14 February), I have choreographed a rumba to a beautiful song cover by Olivia Ong L-O-V-E ?, originally sung by the late Nat King Cole. Olivia is a Singaporean girl who has made it quite big in Japan. Take a listen at her sultry, soulful, pristine and innocent vocals.
As a rumba is also termed the “Dance of Love“, I have so aptly named the dance with the same name. The dance is a 2 wall dance rated beginner/intermediate with (great news!) NO TAGS and NO RESTARTS and (more great news!) can be done in the CONTRA style! In fact, I choreographed the dance with “Contra” in mind as it is so called “Dance of Love” and as a Malay saying goes, “It takes 2 palms to clap” or as I’ll put it, “It takes 2 to Rumba!” LOL
Enjoy the dance, and express those love with those sensuous rumba hips movements! Have a great Valentine’s Day! ? ? ?
(Specially dedicated to my better half ?)
Note: Thx to Eric & Amy for bringing my attention to this lovely song.
